Trago a vocês a gloriosa coletânea Metroid Prime Trilogy, lançada no segundo semestre do ano passado na América do Norte, Europa e Austrália (a versão analisada aqui é a americana). Esta é uma edição de colecionador limitada (com o preço de um lançamento normal), não mais produzida pela Nintendo. Logo se tornará um “Game que não se vê por aí” e alcançará altos preços em sites de venda de jogos e leilões. Portanto, CORRÃO enquanto é tempo!
Vamos falar um pouco sobre os jogos em si.
Metroid Prime (2002) foi a primeira tentativa de adaptar o aclamado universo Metroid para os gráficos poligonais. O visual, na época, impressionava. A jogabilidade mistura elementos de FPS e exploração. O jogo se passa após Super Metroid, com Samus Aran no encalço dos Space Pirates, que buscam por um modo de reforçar o seu exército. Para isso, estudam uma misteriosa substância chamada Phazon, encontrada no Planeta Tallon IV, que confere poderes surpreendentes à criatura que a utiliza. O game foi sucesso de crítica (é o sétimo jogo mais bem avaliado da história, segundo o Game Rankings) e agradou a grande parte dos fãs.
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (2004), apesar de não ser inovador como o primeiro Prime, firmou-se como uma sequência competente. Baseava-se na idéia de mundos paralelos (envolvendo o conceito de trevas e luz) para incrementar a jogabilidade. Neste capítulo, Samus é enviada até o planeta Aether para investigar o desaparecimento de um esquadrão da Galactic Federation, que também sobreu com as consequências do aparecimento de Phazon.
E, finalmente, temos Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (2007). Um dos carros-chefe da line up inicial do Wii, foi um dos primeiros a usar, de maneira consciente, os comandos de movimento do console, tanto na interação com o cenário quanto nas batalhas. Após a sede da Galactic Federation ser atacada pelos Space Pirates, Samus e outros 3 caçadores de recompensas são enviados ao planeta Norion para protegê-lo de um vindouro ataque. Lá o grupo é atacado por Dark Samus, que infecta os 4 com Phazon. Agora, Samus precisa impedir sua “clone maligna” enquanto luta para não ser corrompida pela substância que confere a ela super poderes.
MP e MP2 foram originalmente produzidos para Game Cube, tendo agora seus controles adaptados para Wii. A trilogia foi desenvolvida pela Retro Studios.
Todos os games rodam em, no máximo, 480p (com a ajuda de um cabo de vídeo componente) e no formato widescreen. Boa parte de suas trilhas são orquestradas, recorrendo constantemente aos temas clássicos dos jogos anteriores para instigar a nostalgia. Em suma, os efeitos sonoros são bastantes satisfatórios.
A caixa é um belo steelbook com arte interna e slipcase em plástico duro. A edição possui o disco de jogo (DVD9); manual detalhado dos 3 games; panfletos da Nintendo; e uma espécie de “folder”, contendo artes conceituais, definições de alguns termos, perfil de Samus Aran e um resumo do enredo da saga Prime (frente e verso). A versão australiana, porém, não possui o folder (substituído por um cardboard slip cover metálico) e, assim como a versão européia, não possui a caixa de metal (substituída por uma padrão dos jogos de Wii).

Infelizmente, nem tudo é perfeito. Enquanto se apresentam melhorias em alguns aspectos visuais, as versões de MP e MP2 sofreram uma espécie de downgrade nos efeitos de tiro e simulação de água, comparando com suas versões originais. Os motivos para isso não ficaram claros para mim. Outra questão: porque não incluir um artbook de verdade, ou mesmo um livreto um pouco mais recheado no lugar do folder? Ele definitivamente não honra o termo “Collector’s Edition”.
Para concluir, uma reflexão: porque a Nintendo não tem o costume de fazer esse tipo de lançamento? Os jogos de suas franquias mais preciosas são sempre lançados em edição simplex, diferente de grande parte dos jogos famosos lançados por outras empresas. Quem resistiria a um hipotético “The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sworld: ‘The Legendary Edition’”? =P
